Founder's Note

A white shirt is one of the simplest pieces in a wardrobe — and one of the easiest to get wrong.

We wanted ours to feel less formal than a traditional crisp shirt, but more considered than an oversized casual button-down. The starting point was softness and movement: enough room to change the way it is worn, without losing shape.

The back pleats, relaxed shoulder and fluid fabric all serve the same idea — a shirt that adapts quietly to the body and to the way you want to wear it that day.

55 / 45

55% Cotton / 45% Lyocell

Cotton gives the fabric breathability and a clean, natural feel, while Lyocell adds softness and fluidity.

SATIN WEAVE

The satin construction creates a smoother surface with a subtle lustre. It gives the shirt a more refined, fluid character than conventional crisp cotton shirting.

FIBRIL FINISH

A specialised fibril finish enhances the fabric’s softness and gentle fullness. It also gives the cloth its distinctive relaxed drape and movement.

COOL TOUCH

Naturally cool and smooth against the skin, making the shirt comfortable even in warmer weather.

ABOUT LYOCELL

Lyocell is a plant-derived regenerated cellulose fibre. Its production process avoids the carbon disulfide chemistry used in conventional viscose manufacturing and typically recovers a high proportion of the solvent used.

THE BACK PLEAT

Soft volume, designed into the pattern.

Multiple pleats open from the back yoke, giving the shirt room to move. The dropped shoulder keeps the upper line relaxed; the front stays simple.

Material & construction

55% Cotton / 45% Lyocell

The character of this shirt comes from the balance between cotton and lyocell. Cotton brings breathability and everyday familiarity, while lyocell contributes a smoother handfeel and more fluid movement.

The result is a fabric that feels softer and less rigid than a conventional crisp shirting. It falls naturally around the body and allows the back pleats to open and move without becoming bulky.

Made in Japan.

Volume is built into the back, not the front. Multiple back pleats create room and movement through the shirt while keeping the front relatively clean and uncomplicated.

The dropped shoulder softens the line around the upper body, while the curved hem allows the shirt to look considered whether it is worn loose, partially tucked or layered open.

Rather than relying on a stiff fabric to create shape, the design works with the drape of the cotton–lyocell cloth. The result is relaxed, but not shapeless.
