If the Almafi coast is called the Coast of the Goddess, Venice has only one adjective: a canvas with flowing water. Because every place is full of sunshine, rivers, red roofs, bright and refreshing color walls, various European buildings, and the essence of Byzantine, Gothic and Islamic culture also gave birth to the unique color of Venice.

Venice is characterized by many different small islands. The center of the map is also the central point that tourists must visit – St. Mark’s Square. Where does the structure of “Water City” come from? Dating back to the decline of the Roman Empire in the 5th century AD, the Lombards invaded northern Italy. In order to escape foreign conquest, residents left and settled on the islands in the lagoon, forming the early prototype of the city of Venice.

It takes about 3 hours to drive from Florence to Venice. The hotel arranged a water taxi to take us to the hotel. In just over ten minutes, the water taxi already charged €110! (approximately HK$963). Later, I chatted with the hotel staff and asked if it was the peak tourist season? They said it is the peak season all year round, so blindfold yourself and accept the standard tourist area charges.

Check into a palace-style hotel
Palazzo Venart Luxury Hotel (Yunshui Capital) is a hotel owned by Taiwan’s Yunlang Group. It was once the residence of a Venetian noble. It suffered a fire. After several years of renovation, it first became a homely appearance. Most travelers staying at the hotel will take a water taxi directly to the hotel like me. They will cross from the private pier to the small garden. When they open the door, they will see Eastern elements and Renaissance Western culture.

Q: What is Palazzo style?
A: The architectural style of the 19th and 20th centuries was based on the palaces built by wealthy families during the Italian Renaissance.

Island island island, all are islands
After refreshing ourselves at the hotel, I booked a water taxi and set off to sightsee other islands! It’s a little more expensive, but the photos are really pretty, as you can see by looking at the photos:

Go directly to the hotel pier to get on the boat. Charter a water taxi for 5 people. €685 (approximately HK$6,000)

This time I chose two islands to visit: Murano (Glass Island): In the 14th century, it was famous throughout Europe for its glass. “Venetian Glass” refers to the birthplace of “Murano Glass”, so it is also called the “Glass Island”.

Burano (Colorful Island, also known as Lace Island) was famous for its lace textile and fishing industries in its early years. Now attracting tourists are the colorful houses on the island. It is said that fishermen first painted their houses in different colors in order to identify them, which also made Burano known as the Rainbow Island.

Go to Color House and see all the beautiful things but don’t know where to start? Let me share with you how you can take selfies with a spotting machine and have beautiful photos at the same time? The method is so simple: shoot the video first and then capture it frame by frame and return to the screen!
Supplementary information: Introduction to the topography of Venice. Venice belongs to the lagoon, and the total is composed of a lagoon archipelago of hundreds of large and small islands. The largest island is the city center of Venice including the Grand Canal, Piazza San Marco, and Riado Bridge. Others are scattered throughout the lagoon: Murano (glass island), Burano (color island also known as lace island), Lido (Lido), and several other sandbar islands.
